THE COLLEGE TOWN HOUSE

Today this historic house is administered and maintained by Denison University in partnership with The Federated Clubs of Granville, a non-profit group of clubs that meet on-site on a regular basis. The first floor rooms are available for club meetings, rentals and events.

Built for Dr. William P. Kerr, Principal of the Granville

Female College, 1854-1872. The house was bought by Denison University’s Sigma Chi fraternity in 1899 and occupied until 1929 when the new Sigma Chi house was built on Fraternity Row. William P. Huffman, class of 1911 and Sigma Chi member then bought the house and presented it as a gift to the college in 1944. Huffman intended the use of the house to promote good relations between the town and college.

A Perfect Way To Celebrate Life's Events

From Baby/Bridal Showers, Dinner Parties, Graduations, Family Gatherings, and Everything In-Between

This was the perfect place to host my parents’ 50th anniversary party. Renting the space could not have been easier and the kitchen was very well equipped. We enjoyed every moment.

The College Town House was the perfect place to have a Bridal Shower for my Granddaughter. The 28 people attending were in impressed by the beauty of this charming house.
